Welcome to Nevada’s Statewide 18-24 Year Old Credential Initiative website.  Current statistics reflect over 59,000 of our Silver State’s young adults in this age group lack a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.

Realizing the impact this statistic has on our State’s economy and communities, I did not hesitate to accept when asked by Governor Kenny C. Guinn to chair this important Initiative.  The Initiative’s thrust is to develop collaborations between Nevada employers, state agencies, and our adult education providers that will encourage this population to get their credential and skill training.

Solving this crisis takes the 3 C’s – Commitment, Collaboration, and Communication.  To successfully accomplish the Initiative’s goal of increasing the number of those getting their credential by 10% every year for the next 5 years, will require all Nevadan’s working together.  Your support and participation, however big or small, will foster the Initiative’s success.

Your ideas and suggestions are always welcome.

Cordially,
FRANKIE SUE DEL PAPA
Chair
Former Attorney General
State of Nevada
